Things don't change much on the Santa Monica Pier. The last new restaurant on the pier took over two years due to restrictions from the city/state/whoever. So when one of the piers oldest restaurants SM Pier Seafood changed to
The Albright its a big deal. SM Pier Seafood has been in the Kim family for over 30 years. When it was passed down to younger generation Greg Morena who married into the family decided to change things up. According to the bad Yelp reviews of SM Pier Seafood this was a good call. Coming from back east Greg has made The Albright a very classic New England seafood shack feel.
The food at The Albright is pretty simple. You get fresh seafood and they try not to mess it up. The menu has offerings like oysters, lobster, and crab. The New England Clam Chowder is a very thick white chowder. It will fill you up with even the smaller option. Other options are great to share like their crab pot and fish and chips. Theres nothing quite like sitting down with friends and smashing a crustacean together....
