You don't think rustic Italian comfort food when you go to Venice Beach. Will that change with the opening of Osteria Venice West? Most likely not.
You may however decide that despite all the craziness that is Venice Beach there is a little slice of Italy tucked away in an alley.
Osteria Venice West is the newest venture of Landmark SRG a restaurant management company that is planning the roll out of at least one other high end Italian restaurant in the near future in LA.
OVW is headed by Chef Luigi Fineo. He has an extensive resume cooking at several high end restaurants including Bochon and the French Laundry
The style of OVW is rustic Italian. They do play around a bit (one owner is Japanese and they have a matcha dough pizza.)
What should you get here? The ricotta and blood oranges is a fun appetizer. You don't normally think oranges = first course (or any course) but it works!
Really the menu is simple. A few pizzas, cheeseboards, pastas, etc. Its a little less fancy than the last place that was in this spot and its more affordable.
If you do go and try the green tea pizza let us know what you think of it!
