Theres no hotdogs here. And the popcorn is complementary. iPic and Tanzy have recently opened in Westwood giving westsiders a luxury dining/movie going experience. This is the second iPic in the LA area (first is in Pasadena) and the first Tanzy location. The theatre itself is everything you would expect from a top of the line brand. Theres a recliner seats that remind you of Lazy Boys. You get a waiter. And they bring you your popcorn.
But this site is about food...so yes Tanzy restaurant is located inside iPic. Walking in you will notice that theres interwoven branches surrounding a good portion of the seating area. Its very unique and a good sign that this should be a good dining experience. One notable thing is Tanzy has a special non alcoholic drinks menu. Pretty unusual to have that kind of focus on non alcoholic beverages. The rhubarb/strawberry lemonade is worth getting. The tartness and sweetness are well matched. I was happy with almost everything meal wise (the cheese board was amazing) with the exception of the cauliflower with the short rib (you need a creamy strach!) and the cookies on top of the panna cotta I found bitter. The steak, (which the leftovers of made the best sandwich ever) pasta, and meatballs were great. The sauce on the meatballs being some of the best tomato sauce I have ever had. Tanzy is not a "hotel restaurant" and I am sure its reputation will only grow in LA with time.
